History

Mano Manufacturing Company (MANCO) is Liberia’s leading manufacturer of household health and cleaning products, proudly serving West Africa for over five decades. Founded in 1969 by Raef Fadel as the Liberia Bleach & Chemicals Company, the business began with the production of its flagship product, CLORA™ Super Bleach. Renamed MANCO in 1981, the family-owned company has expanded its product line to include over 60 household and health products, such as POP Detergent Powder, MANOLINE Hair Pomade, RED PACK Candles, and WATERGUARD/SUR EAU. With three generations of the Fadel family involved, MANCO remains deeply rooted in the Caldwell community of Monrovia, employing over 200 Liberians and maintaining a steadfast commitment to local manufacturing.

Under the leadership of Raef’s son, Asaad Fadel, CEO of Manco and its new investment arm, Mano Trade & Investment, MANCO has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan to extend its reach across West Africa and beyond.
This vision begins with the establishment of a new production plant in Côte d’Ivoire, slated for 2025, to increase the availability of its flagship products. MANCO’s products are rigorously tested to meet international standards and have played a vital role in addressing health crises in Liberia and the region. During the Ebola outbreak, MANCO partnered with the Liberian government and international organizations to supply essential disinfectants and cleaning products, including the ECOWAS-certified CLORA™, a critical tool in combating cholera, typhoid, and other diseases. With a legacy of innovation, community investment, and regional impact, MANCO continues to build on its mission of contributing to healthier, more resilient communities.
